Description: This auction is for a rather rare pair of large Fang-gu shaped vases covered in brilliant flambe liver red glaze with attractive blue-purplish hue. Thickly potted with rather tall foot rings and each with similarly incised 6 character seal mark of Chienlung in under brown iron wash and of middle to late Qing period. Both are drilled for table lamps as shown in the pictures of their bottoms. Dimensions: Both of similar size of 13" H x 8" W (across mid belly) x 6.5" D each. Net weight of the pair: 14 pounds 4 ounces (one vase weights 7 pounds & the other - 7.4 pounds). Plus the carved hardwood stands of 1 pound, so the total weight will be 15.4 pounds excluding packaging materials. Condition: a small chip to the foot ring corner of one vase (see photos # 15 & 16), otherwise, in excellent condition overall.
