Description: A quite scarce picture frame. Florentine 18th century. Carved and pierced gilded with a top cartouche. Size: outside of frame approximately 28" tall x 27" wide x 1 1 /2" deep Inside measurements approximately 15 1/3 x 15 1/3PLEASE NOTE: There is a piece from the side missing, fairly typical in these very old gilt frames with this kind of decoration. It's a clean break so it should be an easy repair. Please see photos...this piece will be sent to you as well as the frame. There are several other broken off areas, and the top cartouche is loose and has possibly been repaired in the past.....but you can't really tell due to the nature of the carving and how ornate the frame is....it does not present as a frame with damage. I only have one broken piece and will put it in a plastic bag attached to the frame. Please be aware that due to the frame's fragile nature, other pieces MAY break off during transit, although I am going to package this with extreme care. This is a highly sought after type of frame and is one of the oldest Florentine frames I've ever seen. A true gem! Sold AS IS, no returns. Thanks for looking!
