Description: Las Vegas, Nevada - Landmark Hotel & Casino 1971 3 x 5” Color Photograph Snapshot A long, complicated story beginning in 1962, the Landmark was eventually purchased by Billionaire Howard Hughes in 1969 for $17.3 million. The first high-rise Hotel in Las Vegas, for a few years was the tallest building in Vegas. Several Country stars performed at the Hotel during the 1970’s, it also hosted brief residency’s with Frank Sinatra & Danny Thomas. The Landmark entered bankruptcy in 1985, eventually closing in 1990. The building was demolished in 1995, clearing the area for Las Vegas Convention Center parking lot. In 2021, the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall opened on this spot. Very Rare photo of Las Vegas history. Picture is in excellent condition.
