Description: This antique xylophone is a true gem for collectors and musicians alike. Crafted by R.H. Maryland & Sons in the late 19th century, it boasts a rich history and a beautiful design. Its keys have a stunning patina and its sound is unlike any other instrument. The xylophone is perfect for anyone looking to add a unique touch to their music or for collectors who appreciate vintage musical instruments. Its brand, R.H. Maryland & Sons, is known for producing high-quality instruments and this xylophone is no exception. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of history. Out of the 2 or 3 I've ever seen of these instruments, this one is in incredible museum quality condition. The strikers are intact, the legs still thread perfectly, and the bells are original, with the R.H. Maryland stamp and original scoring (pictured) which was how each bar was fine tuned. The smell of this instrument is amazing. It conjures images of old NYC orchestra halls and fills you with nostalgia, like opening an old cello case and seeing the shining wood and the verdigris patina on the strings. There are very few of these in existence, and even less in this condition. This is an incredible piece and it's very unlikely you'll find one like it outside of a museum.
