Signed autobiography of the famopus BENTLEY BOY racing driver, S C H "Sammy " Davis who won Le Mans in 1927 with the Bentley Team for whom he was a resulr driver at the peaj of the team's fame and success. Davis also raced in many other types of car aside from Bentley including Aston Martin,Invicta, Riley, Singer and Alvis, was a riding mechanic to the lgendary Count Zborowski (who created the real CHITTY BANG BANG) in the 1924 French GP, drove a Bugatti in the first Britsh GP , raced in all kinds of events at Brooklands, in the RAC TT at Ards in Northern Ireland, Phoenix Park in Dublin, won the BRDC 500 Miles race in an Austin 7 with the Duke of Richmond & Gordon (grandfather of the current Duke, who owns Goodwood) as co-driver ,worked as a journalist and road tester for THE AUTOCAR for many years, was a cartoonist (several books of his work published) and artist. The book goes up to 1930 and his leg breaking accident at Brooklands that curtailed his racing career at this point. He resumed later, had another accident , served in the war and did not race after. 305 pages with many illustrations . 2nd edition with the rag-edge style of binding, very much typical of it's day, in which the lower edges of the pages were not trimmed to exactly the same length .
