Description: This small pre-European style leather bracelet has a design of the smallest porcupine quills I have ever seen used to make a design. Such fine work! The design has a center of zigzag technique done in a fashion that just the dark rich brown tip ends of the quill are showing. The circle of natural white quill at the center is also done using zig zag technique. The side decoration of natural color quill has some curving to the outer lines and the ends are the traditional Wabanaki double curve design (the Abenaki are one of the 5 tribes of the Wabanaki confederacy) This bracelet has a thick suede center of walnut dyed hide on the front - it is backed with thinner sueded leather that is a natural hide tan color. The ties, one on either end are of brain tanned white deer hide and very soft! Center is 4.5" long ... each tie is als 4.5" long. Can be tied to fit wrists of nearly anyone... In the early 2000's Aaron apprenticed with Charlene Francis, Penobscot (another of the 5 Wabanaki tribes). I got this and a few other very nice pieces from him at that time - And have not been able to find him since. Hope he is still out there making his fantastic quilled/leather items! Have not offered any of his work before - held onto it as it was so exceptional and unique.... But clearing out "stuff", consolidating etc .. If you purchase more than 1 item from me... put all items in cart and wait to pay for all at 1 time. You will save on shipping - If you haven't done this and you buy 2 or more items at nearly same time - paying for each item separately ....IF I can put them all in same box I will refund you any excess shipping charges and email you that I have done so.
