Description: Lego vintage 4.5V train set number 7824, Train Station, was produced in 1983 and contains 460 pieces (as per Peeron.com web site), which is inclusive of 9 mini figures, 6 suitcases that open and close, 5 mini figure seats, 3 cups, 1 round clock tile, 1 rectangular letter tile, 1 container box with slotted door that has a mail pattern and two 16 x 32 flat baseplates. The set was purchased new by the seller, is, with some substitutions, 100% complete and, with the exception of the set’s two translucent clear 1 x 4 x 5 window panes and two translucent clear doors, is in excellent used condition, which means that there is minimal overall wear on the set’s other pieces. The aforementioned translucent clear window panes and doors are in good condition, which means that there are numerous wear marks on these pieces. The window and door frames that hold the aforementioned translucent clear window panes and doors are in excellent used condition, which means that there is hardly any wear on the window and door frames. The seller has substituted 1 x 2 red and black hinge plates with open studs and two or three fingers for the 1 x 2 red and black hinge plates with solid studs and two or three fingers that originally came with the set. The seller has also substituted 1 x 1 black plates with clip light and thick rings for the 1 x 1 black plates with clip light and thin rings that originally came with the set. Includes the Lego building instruction book for the set, which is in very good condition without marks but does have a small tear along the center fold line of the last few pages and a small tear on the spine by the center fold line. The set provides for the construction of a long train station platform (1) with rear steps, (2) a hinged ramp at each end, (3) a covered passenger seating area with 3 seats, (4) a beverage and ice cream counter with service window shutters that open and close, (5) 2 lamp posts with large light holders, (6) an elevated control room with stairway, a door that opens and closes and a chair that swivels a full 360 degrees, (7) a mail box, (8) a public telephone and (9) a 4.5V train track that runs the full length of the front of the station. The set also provides for the construction of a wheeled baggage cart with hitch that attaches to and is pulled by an open top baggage conveyance vehicle. There are no extra pieces included with the set. The set was built and then disassembled by the seller to ensure completeness. The set is shipped disassembled.
