Description: Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 v4 12524 "King of Bokeh" lens, made in Canada. Lens was purchased from a recently retired photographer who worked for Magnum and Time in NYC, and who was the original owner. The lens was apparently modified by Magnum's service department—the lens hood was cutout to minimize finder blockage, and the white on the lens identification ring was blacked out to make it more discreet, typical mods apparently. I had the lens serviced at the end of 2021, and had the plastic focus tab replaced with a black anodized aluminum tab. The lens has served me well and is in fantastic shape, with perfect glass, no haze, fungus, separation, or scratches, and only a minor amount of dust. Mechanically the lens is in fantastic shape as well (it was evidently routinely serviced throughout its life), with a nicely dampened focus ring, and smooth aperture ring that clicks firmly at each detente. The blades have no excess trace of oil. The lens includes front and rear caps, lens hood and a rubber lens hood cap. I've included sample images taken with the lens on various films with my Leica M7.
