Description: The word "swanky" was invented for this ashtray. It is more of a sculptural piece than a mere ashtray. A thing of beauty for your living room or den...whether you smoke or not! The style was actually created by Imperial Glass in the 1940s and is very much Art Deco. When Lenox bought Imperial Glass in 1973, they reissued this line (Cathay Jade). I am not certain if it was in the late 70s or early 80s. At the time of manufacture, there was also a matching lidded cigarette box that would have been available. This is a heavy ashtray, made of heavy molded glass, and weighs about 1 lb 11 oz! (If you're putting it on a glass topped table, be careful!) And remember, you don't have to be a smoker to enjoy this piece! Many non-smokers are now collecting these vintage ashtrays to press them into service as trinket dishes. Will be wrapped and packed carefully to arrive in your home in excellent condition.
