Description: Offered here is a 4-page Gehenna Press prospectus or brochure circa 1995 promoting “The Presumptions of Death” publication, which includes poems by Anthony Hecht and woodcuts by Leonard Baskin. The brochure features reproductions of several prints from the book. The prospectus, which is printed on high quality paper, is 11 by 14 ½ inches and is in very good condition. There is some light creasing along the top and bottom of the pages, which can be seen in the accompanying photographs. Please review the photographs carefully as they are the most important part of the description. Several months ago we obtained a number of Leonard Baskin prints, as well as exhibition catalogs and other ephemera relating to Baskin from the estate of Bill Bishop, a long-time friend of Baskin, who operated art and antique galleries and shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado. This prospectus was among those items. Leonard Baskin (1922-2000) was a nationally and internationally acclaimed sculptor, printmaker, graphic designer and teacher. His work is in a number of museums including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, the Vatican Museums, the Smithsonian Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Portrait Gallery and many others.
