Lesley Gore California Nights 1966 Mercury Records 72649 Richmond A7/B7 Press VG

Description: For sale is a 45 RPM vinyl single by Lesley Gore titled "California Nights b/w I'm Going Out (The Same Way I Came In)", originally released in 1966 by Mercury Records. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve, then into a storage box for 45 RPM singles, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity until today. The archival inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. In the dead wax, between the labels and end of the tracks, is etched "MR", followed by the matrix numbers A-7/B-7, indicating that earlier stampers were used to make this record at Mercury Records Manufacturing Company's pressing plant, located in Richmond, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. The vinyl is visually graded as Very Good because of superficial sleeve marks and hairlines, but still with surfaces that are shiny and bright, without any scuffs or smudges. There is ink writing and a sticker on one side of the labels, along with a piece of paper missing on the other side of the labels. I'm play grading this record as Very Good because of occasional low levels of high frequency distortion and a some sibilance, none of which over-powers the music. It plays all the way through wothout any skips or lock-ups from start to finish. You would be hard pressed to find a copy of this record in this condition, especially a Richmond pressing.
