Painfully frank and simple plot - a sad story of broken destinies and unfulfilled hopes. In the center of the story is Masha, beautiful in soul, thoughts and body. The girl failed her exams and now lives in an abandoned house with losers neighbors. But the new tenant will stir up both life in their house and the life of the heroine. Masha is an eighteen-year-old graduate. She came to enter the institute, but failed in the exams. And now she should have left Moscow for her parents. But the girl does not want to return home. She will definitely try to pass the exams next year, but for now she gets a job as a janitor and lives in an abandoned house “to be demolished”. She doesn't live alone. This house has sheltered several other people. Former boxer, current alcoholic, failed actress and stoker philosopher. This is how the company came together. Day after day, the heroes hide from checks, hiding their stay in this house. Each of them believes that this is only a temporary refuge before the start of a new, real life. everything changes in one autumn evening. There is a new tenant in the house. Charming and attractive - he finds an approach to everyone. He brings variety to their gray everyday life and to their dull housing. However, all this is too superficial, too flimsy. The romantic guest simply captivates the naive and ingenuous Masha. But won't it all be empty? The film was created in the era of perestroika, when all prohibitions and censorship were lifted, including in cinema. However, this movie did not turn into a frank "darkness", thanks to the director's and camera work. Stairs and corridors of an abandoned house here look like labyrinths of a gloomy castle. Camera wandering and disturbing sounds are reminiscent of a bookish atmosphere. And the pure and naive Masha performed by Marina Zudina is just a ray of light. And, of course, the wonderful game of Menshikov IMDB: TT0098709 POSTER ARTIST : A.
