Features include highly detailed die-cast metal construction of both the locomotive and tender, smoking stack and steam chest, an operating headlight, an operating backup light, electronic railsounds remotely activated by a standard Lionel transformer, switch for whistle or bell activation, a powerful pullmor motor, spoked drivers with metal rims, metal handrails on the locomotive and tender, remote controlled forward, neutral and reverse operation, an opening boiler front, metal wheels, an operating die-cast metal knuckle coupler on the tender, the tender features six wheel die-cast metal trucks, a detailed coal load and authentic Reading markings. It operates on O-42 or wider track. First introduced in the early 20th century, the 4-8-4 to rail yards by storm primarily hauling coal and other forms of freight across state lines in the US and rail-ways in various other countries. While later models would improve on the 4-8-4's limitation, this locomotive still made its place in history as a pioneer of 20th century rail-road industry, and is featured in some museums today as a testament to how far the industry has truly come!
