Description: LIONEL Post War TYPE ZW 275W Transformer w/ OB The Lionel ZW Transformer was the highest power rated transformer that Lionel produced during the Post War period. This was model Variation B, available from 1950 until 1956, and generates 275 Watts of power with a built-in circuit breaker. Typically the transformer would run (2) independent trains using the outer most power levers. The inner power levers added (2) additional power circuits for accessories, but they can also be used for powering the track, however the horn-whistle-directional levers only apply to the two outer lever circuits. This transformer is in very nice condition and has been professionally refurbished including new rubber power cord like the original (not vinyl imitations), new “common” posts with thumb nuts, and new carbon pick-up contact wheels. The transformer has no damage, and has been fully tested and functions as designed, including both horn-whistle and directional activation levers. Original box is included – it is in fair condition, but has new double walled inserts and base to protect the transformer during storage. This will be double boxed for shipping to protect the original box. Standard features of the ZW include: 275 watts (2) Variable speed controls for train 0 -19 Volts Directional control Horn and whistle controller Internal Circuit breaker / red dome light shines for short circuit (2) Accessory 0 – 19 Volts variable output terminal posts
