Description: Sitting side by side with a Coke can, you can see that this is a BIG whistle. It is 1" in diameter. The control valve is a 1/8-27 NPT . The stainless steel shaft that supports the whistle bell has 1/2 inch of extra threads that screw in to the top fitting of the whistle, you can adjust the whistle bell up or down to change the tone. The closer the bell is to the bottom the higher the pitch, the wider the gap the lower the pitch. NOTE: I should not have to say this, but there are 1% of the people out there who are absolutely clueless. This is a steam whistle, it must be connected to a pressure source, either a model steam boiler or a source of compressed air. You can not put this whistle up to your mouth and blow and expect it to work.
