The eye of the hurricane passed directly over the small town of Empire, which is where Kent Frelich and his crew rode out the storm aboard his 75 foot steel shrimp boat. The boat was lied with 32 ropes alongside his shrimp dock, which is located in Doullut Canal between the locks and the floodgates. Only four ropes remained after the storm. At daybreak, after realizing he had his video camera on board, Kent videoed what has proven to be an extraordinary video.
