Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) LOCH AWE: THE HOTEL.Loch Awe is one of the most irregularly shaped of all the Scottish lochs, but a long and very beautiful lake. Owing to the many mountains in the neighbourhood, its lower end is much superior to the upper in grandeur. The total length is about 23 miles, and it contains several islands, two of them rather large. From behind the hotel and pier in the foreground the view stretches across Kilchurn Castle until in the far distance it rests upon the noble peak of Ben Lui, which is 3,708 feet in height. This mountain is easy of ascent, and magnificent views are obtained from its summit, ranging north to Ben Nevis, south to Ben Lomond and the Firth of Clyde, west to Jura and Mull, and in the east to Ben More; thus taking in the principal Scottish peaks.
