Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) LOCH EARN.This is a very beautiful loch about seven miles long from east to west, and with a good road all round, which makes a lovely drive of about sixteen miles. The view is taken from Lochearnhead, a quarter of a mile from the western end. The scenery as seen from here is very fine, the mountain of Ben Voirlich (to the right of the view) rising near the south side to a height of 3,224 feet. From this also a magnificent landscape is commanded. Close to the south shore is the house of Ardvoirlich, where the MacGregors manifested that horrible Celtic ferocity which is so prominent a feature in Scottish history by displaying the head of the murdered Stewart in the window to his widow, as indicated in the "Legend of Montrose.'
