Description: Here is a lovely Lomonosov porcelain figurine of a Partridge bird from Russia. The piece is 5.25 inches tall and 5.75 inches long by 2.75 inches across. Marked on the bottom of a foot: LFZ, Made in USSR. Condition is EXCELLENT. No chips, cracks or scratches. The stamp on the bottom is in red. High gloss. History regarding the red stamp and its first quality: “This piece is from Lomonosov Porcelain Factory located near St. Petersburg, Russia before 1992. After 1992 instead of "Made in USSR" the sentence "Made in Russia" was placed. History: This piece is from one of the most respected Russian porcelain manufacturers and is reputed to be one of the most coveted products from Russian Imperial Porcelain Manufacturers. These porcelain items are hand painted and each has the original Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (LFZ) logo. Red over glaze EXPORT mark "Made in Russia" or "Made in Russia, U.S.S.R." was placed on some items starting 1920s. From 1936-1992 stylized LFZ (in Russian) marks ( for author A.A. Yazkevitch) was used. The mark color usually was determined by items grade: Red- 1st quality, Blue - 2nd quality, and Green - 3rd quality. The Lomonosov (Imperial) porcelian factory founded in 1744 in Saint-Petersburg by decree of Empress Elisabeth, Peter the Great's daughter, became the first in Russia, both for this enterprise was the first in terms of the time of its foundation and for its essential contribution to world culture.” “Some of them were made for EXPORT. Starting 2002 new logo was developed. It is blue, says "Lomonosov porcelain manufacture. Hand decorated since 1744." "Made in Russia". It is under glaze , made with fluorescent paints and placed for now at all items from Lomonosov.
