Description: Long Man Of Wilmington Sussex 1962 Vintage Print A print from a disbound book about Kent and Sussex dated 1962, the reverse side has an unrelated unrelated picture. Caption beneath the picture - THE LONG MAN OF WILMINGTON. Nobody knows the origin of this extraordinary figure, some 240 feet high, cut into the face of Windover Hill, near Alfriston. One theory is that it represents an ancient god flinging open the gates of the Dawn. Suitable for framing, the average picture size is approx 8" x 9.75" or 20cm x 25cm, actual page size inc border and text approx 8.5" x 11". This is a vintage print, printed on semi-gloss heavy magazine style paper not a modern copy and does show signs of age or previous use commensurate with the age of the print with possible light creases, marks or foxing. The date given of 1962 is the printing date, the actual date of creation can be earlier. All pictures will be sent bagged and in a board backed envelope for protection in transit.
