This slender volume describes a bet over how to pronounce Lord Byron's name, which resulted in a letter from the poet Thomas Moore, who had known Byron, discussing how Byron's name was properly pronounced. (As shown in the photograph, each of the two "Byrons" in the title has a different phonetic mark over the "Y".) A reproduction of Moore's letter is tipped in. From the book: "Note: The Thomas Moore letter is genuine; it is in the possession of the writer and is here reproduced in facsimile. The rest of the sketch is an imaginary setting for the letter. -- Alfred Sutro, San Francisco, August 20, 1932."
