Cover looks great, light scuffing creasing and some surface impressions (front/back); back has slight discoloration with a few darker spots. Inner-sleeve is original (poly-lined paper); one seam partially unglued. Spine is easy-to-read with mild wear. Minor shelf-wear along bottom-edge, slightly more wear along top edge with small developing split near center. Some wear to corners. Opening has some folds and creasing; it is an import with a softer cover. (Not a cut-out.) ABOUT THE RECORDCesar Franck: Symphony in D Minor, by Lorin Maazel, highlights the work of Cesar Franck. At last the performance of his String Quartet on the 19th of April 1890 seemed to have broken the ice of his long lack of attention for the work of his musical talent. The Salle Pleyel reechoed to applause such as one seldom hears there, wrote one of his pupils. The composer died a few months later - exactly a year after the completion of this String Quartet in 1890.
