Description: Offered for sale two (2) Mid CenturyTRAVEL IRONS (1) a 1947 General Electric - GETravel IronCat. No. 119F18375 Watts 115 VoltsMade in USA This is a really nice and very clean travel iron by General Electric in excellent condition. Overall, the chrome finish is shiny and rust-free.It features a ergonomic handle in brown Textolite; a similar material to Bakelite, but GE used their own trade-name: Textolite, which GE patented. The handle and electrical outlet compartment can be folded down to make the iron compact for travel. Bottom of iron appears super shiny, with only minor signs of use. The cloth covered wire and plug are in excellent condition. Iron measures approximately 7.75" long and has settings under the handle for linen, cotton, wool, silk, and rayon. I tested it, and found that it heats up, as new. This iron model number appeared in advertising in 1947 - 1949, which is how I was able to determine an accurate age. - P L U S - (2) A 1960's APEX Travel Iron with original Boxand plastic casefor home use and for Travel110 Volt / 250 WattAgain, I relied upon Newspaper ads to help verify the age. This model appeared in ads in the 1960's, which I've included (in images) simply for for fun and reference. The handle can be folded down for easier packing. Good working condition with some signs of use on plate. From a smoke-free home.I do offer combined shipping on all my items.
