Au début des années 1860, il est l’associé de François-Joseph Bastien, photographe 4, rue Neuve-des-Petits-Champs à Paris. Il épouse sa fille le 27 mars 1862. Après le départ de son beau-père, Eugène Carton continue seul au moins jusqu’en octobre 1865 (naissance de sa fille). Quand il décède le 19 février 1871, il est domicilié 57, rue Montmartre et non plus rue Neuve-des-Petits-Champs où il avait été remplacé par Schneider. At the beginning of the 1860s, he was the partner of François-Joseph Bastien, photographer at 4, rue Neuve-des-Petits-Champs in Paris. He married his daughter on March 27, 1862.
