Description: Lot of 2 Vintage 1960s Gold Imari Hand-Painted Japan Octagon Bowls Otagiri OMC My late mother was the original owner of these two bowls. I know my mother purchased them at the Otagiri Mercantile Company (OMC) store in NYC in the 1960s. Otagiri imported wares from many Japanese kilns/companies. Most were marked with an OMC sticker. I have sold several items with the OMC sticker. And, I have found online identical Gold Imari bowls that still have the OMC stickers. The larger bowl has the appropriate sized sticker residue on the bottom. They have been kept unused in a cabinet above the refrigerator since the 1980s. These bowls are hand-painted in bright and bold colors, and with gold trim. The pattern is the same: four panels with flowers and four panels with peacocks; and, the only difference is the size of the panels. They have a raised footed bottom. They nest well together. Approximate measurements: 7 1/2” diameter at top 4.2" diameter at base 3.2” height weight: 1 pound 7.7 ounces 6 1/2” diameter at top 3.6" diameter at base 2.8” height weight: 1 pound 1.2 ounces To be shipped USPS Priority Mail or UPS, your choice; or, interested buyers may contact me to examine the bowls and use the local pick-up option. I am listing separately: "Lot of 6 Vintage 1960s Marked Japanese Imari Footed Soup or Rice Bowls with Lids" Thank you for looking.
