Description: Lot of 6 Cabinet Card photographs (1880s - 1890s) with great backmarks showing photographer's logo/information. 1880s cabinet card studio portrait by Amory Nelson Hardy Photographer in Boston, Massachusetts. Hardy started a photography business in Lewiston, Maine before moving to Boston where he kept a studio on Winter Street (c. 1873–1878), Washington Street (c. 1868 and c. 1879–1887), Temple Place, and Tremont Street. He belonged to the National Photographic Association of the United States. In 1880 he exhibited photos at the first convention of the Photographers Association of America in Chicago. Nice portrait & backmark showing awards by Photographers Association of America. Phifer & Becker photographers are listed in the Cleveland City Directory as being at this location from 1893- 1896. 1880s cabinet card portrait by Excelsior View Company Chas. Sylvester - Manager - 159 Railroad Ave., Elmira, New York. 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" reverse of card with nice company logo / backmark with camera. Excelsior View Company was listed in the Elmira City Directory as being in business fin 1888.
