Description: Lot of Five Roman Glass Vessel Sherds, from Holy Land, about AD 400. These sherds come from a Roman-era glass factory near the Red Sea. These sherds include examples of rims and body, although one fragment belongs to part of the annealing wad at time of vessel blowing. One of the body sherds belongs to a goblet and one can see several etched lines. Another body sherd contains an inclusion and is perhaps why the vessel was discarded. Mostly green glass, but two fragments are mostly clear. One fragment is mainly clear of impurities that it looks nearly modern. But these were all part of the archaeological deposits when found in the 1960s.HISTORIC!. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
