Description: Up for sale is a rare Hall of Fame outfielder Lou Brock of the St. Louis Cardinals 1976 MSA Disc Isaly's Sweet William Family Restaurants Disc #5 per online checklists. Condition is "Acceptable", which is judged to be "very good" in this instance. Please read the description very carefully. There are some imperfections including surface scratches and edge wear and some discoloration due to age.There are some miscellaneous marks and soiling on both sides of the disc. Louis Clark Brock(June 18, 1939 September 6, 2020) was an American professionalbaseballoutfielder. He began his 19-yearMajor League Baseball(MLB) career with the 1961Chicago Cubsbut spent the majority of his big league career as aleft fielderfor theSt. Louis Cardinals. Brock was inducted into theNational Baseball Hall of Famein1985 and theSt. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famein 2014. He was a special instructorcoachfor the St. Louis Cardinals. Brock was best known for hisbase stealing, breakingTy Cobb's all-time major league career steals record andMaury Wills's single-season record. Brock was anAll-Starfor six seasons and aNational League(NL) stolen base leader for eight seasons. He led the NL indoublesandtriplesin 1968. He also led the NL insinglesin 1972, and was the runner-up for the NLMost Valuable Player Awardin 1974. In his 19-year major league career, Brock played in 2,616gamesand accumulated 3,023hitsin 10,332at batsfor a .293 career batting average along with 486doubles, 141triples, 149 home runs, 900RBI, 1,610runs, 938stolen bases, 761bases on balls, a .343on-base percentage, and a .410slugging percentage. A six-time All-Star, Brock hit over .300 eight times during his career. He ended his career with a .959 careerfielding percentage. Brock held the single-season stolen base record with 118 until it was broken by Rickey Henderson with 130 in 1982. He also held the major league record for a careerstolen baseswith 938 until it was also broken by Henderson in 1991. He led the National League in stolen bases for a record eight times and also had a record 12 consecutive seasons with 50 or more stolen bases. Brock is still the National League's leader in career stolen bases. Brock's .391 World Series batting average is the highest for anyone who played over 20 series games. His 14 stolen bases in World Series play are also a series record. Brock's 13 hits in the 1968 World Series tied a single-series record previously made byBobby Richardsonin 1964 against his Cardinals' team, and was in turn later tied in 1986 byMarty Barrett. Brock was inducted into theBaseball Hall of Famein 1985, his first year of eligibility. He was inducted into theMissouri Sports Hall of Famein 1992. Brock was inducted into theSt. Louis Walk of Famein May 1994 and, in 1995 he was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. In 1999, he was ranked Number 58 onThe Sporting News'list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players,and was nominated as a finalist for theMajor League Baseball All-Century Team. The 1976 Isaly Sweet William Disc Set was regionally produced and distributed throughout the Pittsburgh area by the Isaly Dairy and Sweet William Restaurants. As a result these discs are rare and highly sought after. There were a total of 70 discs in the set. Up for sale is disc number 5 out of 70. The discs have various colored fronts, are un-numbered and measure 3-3/8" in diameter. These discs are considered an "oddball item", which make them highly sought after being collectors.
