Description: For sale is an Alma bag with a date code of BA1925, which would be from December 1995 in France. The leather parts of the bag were getting darker and worn so it was dyed black. It’s now cleaner-looking and unique, without being a really expensive bag. The leather was degreased and dyed with Eco-Flow Waterstain in black. Eco-Flo Satin Shene was used as a finisher to give it a satin look. The black should look good for a long time, because the dye has been absorbed by the leather. If somehow it needs to be touched up in the future, some black dye can make it look good fairly easily. The original leather handles had their own issue with wear and became dark enough that different methods to restore them were not working. The bag looks fresh with its new color, but there are some imperfections with the condition. There are small cracks showing on the handles which can be seen in photos. All the brass has been polished but it still looks a bit worn. The inside of the bag was cleaned with a fabric cleaner but there is a trace of mild staining. There aren’t any unusual smells.
