Description: Lovely antique/vintage egyptian revival sterling silver and carved faience scarab necklace. This necklace features an antique hand-carved faience scarab pendant that is 3/4” long by 1/2” wide by 7/16” deep that is bright blue with a glossy finish. This scarab is nicely carved with egyptian hieroglyphics carved on its back, or underside. It hangs on a particularly nice vintage sterling silver curb link chain that is 22” long and that is finished with a spring ring clasp. This vintage chain looks almost new as it is bright sterling silver from a recent cleaning. While it is a vintage chain, it is likely newer than the pendant. Both the scarab and the chain are in very good antique/vintage condition with no damage other than, perhaps, very minor, age appropriate surface wear. The previous owner acquired the scarab in Egypt decades ago and added the chain at some point afterwards. The chain is stamped “Sterling” on the clasp and has been professionally tested as sterling silver. The scarab has been examined and is guaranteed to be made of faience.
