Description: Lovely Edwardian Solid Silver and 9Ct Gold Cigarette Case By Smith & Bartlam Hallmarked Birmingham 1908 The Gold corner is Hallmarked 9Ct It is in good to fair condition. It has quite a few dents to the main body and the bottom should be a concave shape but is sprung out so ‘pops’ when you press it in. The edges are nice and it is nicely aligned when closed. Because of its misshapen bottom the catch is not holding it closed. The retaining straps are missing It has a beautiful chased design on both sides and a large blank cartouche on the front The 9ct gold panel also has a chased design Nice clear hallmarks on the inside It is approx 8cm long and 6cm wide (obviously not big enough for modern cigarettes!)
