Description: Morgana KingI Know How It Feels To Be LonelyVerve V6-5061LP, 33 rpm1968 first pressingStereoCutoutVG+/NM- (record) - very minor intermittent crackle and a few pops VG+ (sleeve) - cutout hole punch at bottom left; minor cover wear; some checkmarks in ink on the back cover. VG+ (Verve inner sleeve) - one corner folded; 3-5" interior seam splits on two sides This is a very interesting jazz vocal album in a Nina Simone/Laura Nyro vein that shows off King's alleged four-octave range, beginning with a wildly unexpected cover of The Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows." King performs two other more conventional Beatles tunes on the LP ("Eleanor Rigby" and "Got To Get You Into My Life") as well as Donovan's "Sunshine Superman" and Simon & Garfunkel's "Feelin' Groovy", plus some more traditional standards like "Since I Fell For You" and "Didn't We." I think King is not well remembered today (aside from her film role as Carmela Corleone in The Godfather), but if you're feeling adventurous, give this a try! I'll combine shipping if you buy more than one 12" Buy-It-Now record but you must (1) select "Add to Cart" for each record, and then (2) select "Request Total." I'll then send a combined invoice for you to pay. My auctions are listed as "no international shipping" because of the excessive cost and delays these days. However, if you really want something and are willing to put up with both the cost and likely delay, please feel free to bid. Goldmine Record Grading Standards: Mint: Absolutely perfect in every way. Near Mint (NM or M-): Nearly perfect, no visible defects, no surface noise. NM sleeves have no creases, ring wear, or seam splits. Very Good Plus (VG+) or Excellent (E): May show slight signs of wear, slight warps, or minor signs of handling, that do not affect the listening experience. VG+ sleeves have only minor wear, such as a short split (one inch or less) at the bottom, or a cutout marking. Very Good (VG): Lacks most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear and light scratches are visible. The record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft , but the noise will not overpower the music. Label may include minor writing, tape or a sticker. A VG sleeve has many signs of handling, such as obvious but not overwhelming ring wear, creases, seam splitting, or handwriting or stamps. Good (G), Good Plus (G+) or Very Good Minus (VG-): Significant surface noise and groove wear, and the label is worn, with significant ring wear, heavy writing, or obvious damage. G/VG- sleeves have distracting ring wear, seam splits, or heavy writing. Poor (P) and Fair (F): Records are cracked, impossibly warped, or skip and/or repeat when an attempt is made to play them. Sleeves are heavily damaged.
