Description: This framed print depicts a street scene in the Highgate area of Stockport and is a reprint of originall.The 10 x 8 inch print is set in a medium sized 32 x 27cm distressed white coloured antique style frame from our popular Hembury range. The orientation print is produced using digital laser techniques on a 90 gsm print sheet. The print showcases Lowry's love for Stockport and his nave art style, with a subject of a street depiction from the time period of 1925-1949. This is a reprint of the original version that was painted oil on board giving it a gravelled look.Unlike the 1961 version in which he used his trademark oil on canvas which portrays a more refined look. It's well known his love for Stockport due to his close proximity as a child before moving approximately 8 to 10 miles away to Pendlebury with his parents due to financial difficulties. In the images section you will see the street shortly before it was demolished in the 1960s.And which has now been rebuilt with modern houses in the same cobbled style and Victorian lampposts in honour of the artist.
