Description: This head vase is not marked on the bottom, but is Luanne by Betty Lou Nichols. She came out of my mothers collection. She has two hands crossed in front of her slim waist and has long beautiful eyelashes and great curled hairstyle, complete with a off white dress with green polk a dots. She does have some issues - fixed breakage on the brim of her hat (from years ago), chips (only on her hat brim and a few tiny ones on her front ruffle) and the usual crazing for the age of the item. She displays very well. She is 8.25" tall and 6" wide and 5.5" deep. A little history:Betty Lou Nichols launched a ceramics business in California during World War II. Nichols employed innovative clay techniques to render ruffled skirts, curls for hair, elegant faces, etc. The figurines typically feature very large heats and elegant eyelashes. Most Nichols' head vases feature hand-painted marks on the base, and many were given actual female names, such as Angela, Mary Lou, Candy, etc. From a smoke free home - will be packaged carefully.
