MORTISE DOOR LATCH, REVERSIBLE CIRCA 1890'S NICE CONDITION (41078) Vintage, M W & Co, mortise door latch for a passage door, closet or any door not requiring a dead bolt. Circa 1885-1915. Requires a standard size 5/16" knob post shaft.Mortise lock has a front plate length of 3 1/2" and a width of 7/8" and thickness of 1/8". Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 5/8". The box measures 3 3/8" from the front edge of the face plate to the back of the box.
