This is a special little deer cowrie, it has a beautiful algae layer (it was green for the first two years, then the green faded to its current color), which is not common in specimens of this species. This is the only cervinetta cowrie I've ever handled that has a algae layer. Therefore, it's been in my collection many years. Recently, I've decided to only collect shells in a certain size range, so I put this one up for sale. Its price is a great deal because its quality is not good.
