Description: Madame Blanc: 31" Whitewashed Santos Cage Doll with Peacock Feathers Skirt! -- RARE! I.e.: we used to own/operate SantosCageDoll.com, from 2009 through 2022... And, (most of) the last of the Santos (+ some related products) we had held on to in the years since are now - finally! - being listed hereby on eBay! So: GONE IS GONE - this is the only one of this kind we have available! Unless specifically mentioned otherwise, *any* crowns, clothing (other than the peacock skirt she comes with!), and/or other accessories shown in our photos are *not* included with this Santos. **Signature required for delivery** This stunning almost 31" tall Santos cage doll (with an 8" wide base) is a natural beauty... Photos truly do not do her justice! She's the body of our 31" "grey" Cage Doll (which has been listed separately), but without her regular paint/finish. And: she comes with a beautiful removable skirt, handmade of antique velvet ribbon and naturally fallen peacock feathers! Unlike aforementioned "grey" Santo, she has been "whitewashed" with faux aging techniques by the craftsmen that made her - leaving a powdery coat that accentuates her natural wood grains and delicate carvings. <3 The joint where the breastplate and the torso meet is visible and normal with this type of construction... In many years past, Santos were often made by pouring plaster in to molds for heads and hands, and attaching to wood torsos. These days, the torsos and cages are usually still made of wood (plus some metal joint pieces, like tiny nails nails), but the plaster is often a combo of resin finished with plaster, which has been sculpted, sanded - and then hand painted. ... Hadn't we known differently, we could have sworn that her hands and torso too had been carved out of wood! She is articulated at the shoulders, elbows, and hands, but keep in mind that she is jointed only for very subtle posing. She will match beautifully with all kinds of decor - be it antique, religious, shabby chic... Or Italian, Spanish, French, South American, Central American decor! Lastly - for your reference - she best wears a crown between 2 and 2.75 inches in diameter - again, the crown in the photo is not included...
