Description: 19th Century High Relief Copper Plaque With Carved Wood Frame Depicting Madonna And Child With Cherubs Plaque Measures Approx. 7 1/4" x 6" Frame Measures Approx. 12 3/4" x 11 1/2" The plaque is held in the frame with small nails and one side does not fit perfectly flush with the frame cut out, so it is slightly tilted (causing the little shadow on right-hand side when viewed from the front). The plaque itself shows a bit of age wear and has a few slight cracks, mostly along the outer edges. The wooden frame has a few marks / nicks and is composed of two separate pieces, an outer frame and an inner frame that actually holds the plaque. The inner frame is held in the outer by several small nails and a shim placed between the two along the bottom side. I have not cleaned / restored the piece in any way other than a light dusting with a horsehair brush. Please see photographs for details.
