Description: This is a rare August 30th, 1949 "Playgram" playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the MAE WEST comedy "DIAMOND LIL" at the Shubert Lafayette Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. (The revival opened February 5th, 1949 at the Coronet Theatre in New York City, but suspended performances February 26th, 1949 when Miss West broke her ankle. Following this engagement, the show would reopen September 7th, 1949 at the Plymouth Theatre and run for 182 performances before returning to the road. Following a tour and a summer hiatus, the production returned to New York's Broadway Theatre on September 14th, 1951 for an additional 67 performances.) .....
