Description: MAIN ST. GREENFIELD, MA CIRCA 1890 - Very attractive mounted boudoir-format photograph of the Main St. downtown of Greenfield, Massachusetts, circa 1890. Pencilled description on verso identifies location. The “boudoir” format, used primarily for wide landscape views, was used for approximately 10-15 years and is a particular favorite of mine due to the size and aspect ratio. Photograph shows many downtown shops, awnings, horse-drawn carriages and what looks to be a large barber’s pole on the right side of the street. Photograph is in excellent condition and mount is in very good condition with a couple chips out at corners. Great view of an early American commercial district!
