Description: Offered is the vintage book "Major Butler's Legacy", written by Malcolm Bell, Jr and published by the University of Georgia Press in Athens. This biography of "five generations of a slave-holding family" has a 1987 copyright date. There are many black and white photos and illustrations. The original dust jacket is included. The thick book is approx. 9 1/2" x 6 1/4" and contains 673 pages, including the notes section, index, etc. It is in excellent condition. The yellow hard cover has no wear, the black words on the spine still vivid. There is no cracking inside either the front or the back cover. The yellow endpapers are clean. I see no missing or torn pages and all are well-attached to the binding, clean and clear. I see no writing in the book other than the author's. The glossy dust jacket is intact, with no tears, holes or missing bits. It is slightly wrinkled along the top and bottom edges, primarily in the center. The original barcode label is still attached on the back. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions. I will do my best to answer them! Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store!
