Description: In response to a request for autograph, Major General Lunsford Oliver writes that his "greatest satisfaction is the fact that 5th Armored Division has had less casualties than any other division that had anywhere near as many months in combat." Signed card accompanies the letter, written in 1964. MG Oliver commanded the US Fifth Armored Division, which served in Europe from July 1944 until beyond the end of the war. It was the first division to reach the Seine, the first to reach Luxembourg, and the first to fight in Germany. Great autograph and letter for your WW2 Collection.
