Description: This uncirculated 500 Maldivian rufiyaa note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Maldives Monetary Authority. It is an orange polymer note that is dated 5 October 2015, bears the signature of Dr. Azeema Adam, and measures 150 mm x 70 mm. The note has the theme “our ancestral craftsmanship”. Its obverse side features a seated woman making ekels traditionally used for brooms, an artisan carving wood using a mallet and chisel, a flower, and a Spark Orbital patch. Its reverse side is vertically oriented and shows a traditional hand-carved vase with lacquer work detailing. Because this note is made of polymer substrate, it does not have a security thread. However, it has a denomination registration device and a shadow image of the coat of arms.
