Description: Marcel Proust's classic masterwork published in English as "Remembrance of Things Past," is available here in an early edition with translation by C. K. Scott Moncrieff. Hard to find in this 1934 four-volume edition, this is a very nice set with only minor issues due to its age and prior handling. The paper on one hinge is split, but the hinge itself is still strong from top to bottom. One pair of pages had a newspaper article stored between them, which left a minor discoloration (see photos). The newspaper article is about the same Proust set, in fact, a two-page 1934 section from the New York Herald Tribune - it will be in a separate [plastic bag. Also with the books is an 8.5"x11" two-side press release for the 1984 film "Swann in Love," based on the books and starring Jeremy Irons, Ornella Muti, and Alain Delon.
