Description: 'My Own Story' is an autobiography of stage and screen actress Marie Dressler as told to Mildred Harrington. The book contains a forward by Will Rogers. Published in November 1934 by Little, Brown & Company of Boston Massachusetts. The book itself is in good condition overall for its age. There are marks across the base of the front and rear covers which I cannot identify. Possible a binding flaw as there are no marks on the dust jacket. There is some acid paper staining inside the front cover, most likely from a receipt of some kind left inside. The dust jacket is torn through with missing pieces and worn edges. This is an entertaining account of Dressler's life and career. The narrative jumps about a bit, (Harrington followed Dressler's wishes regarding the narrative and was not a professional biographer or editor) but I still found this well worth reading. The forward by Will Rogers was from a radio tribute to Dressler shortly before her death. This book was published shortly after Dressler's death.
