Made by Herman Miller, Zeeland, c1995. Rectangular steel, painted black, vinyl cushions with 'Julius the Monkey' pattern by Paul Frank. One cushion with Facsimile signature Paul Frank. This particular version is much rarer that the more common Blue Red White Paul Frank design. This particular example is seldom seen for sale. Some of the leather cushions do have minor flaws and scuffs. One of the cushions has a tiny cut along the side seam. The metal frame does have paint loss, espically on the rear leg. In our opinion the patina adds to the attraction of the piece. The feet are not original and one appears to be seized in place. The couch was designed in 1956. This exemple was made around 1995. With Paul Frank's typical 'Julius' monkey face, only 20 pieces are said to have been produced in the red white and blue pattern. We believe this example to be even more rare.
