Description: MARTIN HANDCRAFT COMMITTEE II Eb ALTO SAXOPHONE "LION & CROWN ON THE BELL " SERIAL # 136230 CIRCA 1940 (Matching Serial Number on the Neck) This "Martin Handcraft Comittee II Alto Saxophone" will need a set of pads to play, therefore I am selling it in As Is Condition, not playing. This Vintage Martin Handcraft Committee II Alto Saxophone was made just before the start of WW II, Check out the photos and you will see that the Lacquer has darkened over the years, and it has a Nice Cognac Patina. The Keys on this Handcraft are solid Nickel Silver. Dropped this Vintage Martin Alto (currently 88 yrs old) off at the shop and asked them to put on a New Neck Cork and confirm for me that it will need a New set of Pads to play, The Cosmetic Condition overal, is Very Good. The Original Lacquer is in Very Good condition (See Photos). The Entire Engraving is Very Crisp. Not all of the rollers function properly The Original End Plug is with this Alto. The Only repair that I have seen on this Martin Alto is amn old solder to the Octave Key lever at its Pivot Point. The original case is in sad condition. The case is a doubler case and included the Internal Clarinet Case. However, one of the manual locks was removed sometime ago. And, the latch that is on the lock on the case that is complete, does not lock/stay latched, so I will ship this Martin Alto Sax in case that locks / works properly. There is wear on the body and keys, typical from use over the years. (See Photos) There is a smalll ding located at the bow on the outside near the low "C" key. There is No mouthpiece.
