Martin M-38 made in 1990 [SN 494246] This is a Martin OOOO (Grand Auditorium) shape M-38, made in 1990. This M-38 has a spruce top, rosewood sides and back, and mahogany neck, Ebony fingerboard and bridge, binding on the neck and head, and tortoiseshell pickguard. The pegs have been replaced and returned to their original state, and the screw holes have been opened. There are some signs of use commensurate with its age (minor weather cracks on the top of the body, color fading, scuffs and scratches, picking marks, buckle marks, ring marks on the back of the neck, scratches, cloudy metal parts, rust on the screws, etc.). The body back crack has been repaired, top binding glued, neck binding glued, head binding glued, bracing glued, neck angle adjusted, refretted, nut adjusted, and the fret board is high enough to play with approximately 1.16mm remaining overall. * No truss rod adjustment. Fatter than OOO, quaint tone different from dreadnought or OM shape, crisp and powerful bass, and hard core sound. Item rank: B: Fairly scratched and used, but no problems in normal use.
