Description: MAX by Pericle Luigi Giovanetti First published in 1954 in the US, this is the first UK Edition 1979 - Vintage Hardback Dust Jacket Luigi Pericle Giovannetti (Basel, 22 June 1916 - Ascona, 19 August 2001), also known as Luigi Pericle, was a Swiss painter and illustrator of Italian origin. In 1953, Giovannetti created Max the Marmot, the main character of the homonymous comic strips with no texts, for all ages, which brought him international fame: the cartoon character soon became popular, especially in Europe, the United States and Japan. Dust jacket is price clipped but otherwise intact and neat. Binding and all pages are intact. A couple of small marks inside front cover. Pages are very neat. Cover under jacket looks new.
