Description: Estate Item, presumed a wedding gift from the 1950s-1960s, Kirk's Stainless hand forged Sheffield Cutlerycarving set of knife with 6.5" blade and 6 3/4" handle (total length 13+ inches), and carving knife of4 3/4 inch stainless forged tine blades and 6 3/4 inch handle (total length 11.5 inches)with markings of the Kirk's Sheffield origins in England. Knife is extremely sharp; no wear evenvisible on the fork tines. Wood handles appear to be rosewood or mahogony. Custom hinged storage box of decoraged papers overlaid on wood box (14" long) with fastenersat the front for securing sharp items. Box is also marked Made in England. Box issatin lined with velvet flocked blade holders. Box itself is in perfect condition; slight rust spot onone of the front fasteners. Boxed set has been in storage nearly 40 years; non-smoking, non-animal environment.A set this nice doesn't come up for auction very often. USA shipping only.
